These are not all of my plots, just a few. See if any catch your fancy. There are also prompts as the bottom for several. And many of these are several years old (plots and prompts).
Also, at the bottom is a "retired plots" section. Basically these are plots i've either given up on or have tried out and didn't work well. If you REALLY want to use one of them, then pitch to me why you would make it so much better.
In medieval, Renaissance, Tudor, Victorian ... Anywhere in those time periods with or without fantasy. I have a few options here:
❣Neither want to be married but are forced.
💕They are different races/species (fantasy wise: elf, vampire, werewolf, etc)
❣Her parents are pushing her into marriage(not necissarily pre-arranged), and she ends up falling for the lord with a bad reputation.
💕She has been told the man she is to marry is not who he says he is, and she should kill him before he takes her on their wedding bed. He has the time between when they meet until they are married to change her mind.
Medieval F// : Gender Bend
(Can be seen as MxF if preferred. Can pick up from after transformation)
In a medieval kingdom one young girl grew up with one wish: to be a knight. When her poor, farming family try to quash her dreams, she runs away to finally try and make her dreams come true.
Now grown, the girl has risen in the ranks as one of the best knights in the court, and has been given one of the most important positions...person guard for the princess, only child of the kingdom. Having guarded her for almost a year, the girl has fallen hopelessly in love with the princess, and due to her rank and prestige, she knew if only she were a man she would be able to ask the king for his daughter's hand. Her only hope is to visit a witch from just outside the kingdom, while taking the princess to meet a potential suitor, and ask to be made a real man.
I have openers for both on the premades page, but my preference is to play princess and witch to your knight.
Historical Vampires
In Venice, Italy (or anywhere even a fictitious location. The location is not as important as the plot itself) a family of vampires has been on the throne for generations. The ruling queen and king have chosen a human female as the betrothed of their son, in order to preserve the true blood line of vampires (and a vampiric child to be born). They need to continue the family line, and the only way to do so is to bring in a living human to carry the child (which to a human can be a death sentence).
The common folk of Venice have no idea their royal family are actually vampires, and the young girl is thrilled to be chosen as the new princess. After the wedding, on the night he is to bed her, he is revealed as what he truly is (this can be on purpose or by accident. It is up to the writer).
After finding out the truth, the girl is told that as soon as she can produce a male heir, she can be turned, if she choses. Or she can live out her life normally until her death as a mortal...if she even survives carrying a non-mortal child.
My vampires: do not sparkle, are NEARLY (but not fully) immortal [ie really long life spans but can be killed if pierced directly through the heart, and eventually...after thousands of years...can die of old age], can eventually build up a tolerance to sunlight little by little over a long period of time, hunt and drink the blood of humans (can also drink animal blood as a substitute), can eat and drink things that are not blood for taste but not sustenance.
There are "pure" vampires who are born (of a vampire and a human), and "impure" vampires who are turned. Pure vampires have greater abilities (compelling, strength, speed) than impure vampires.
Because vampires are essentially "dead" they cannot carry life. So it takes a living mortal to carry a pure vampire. While in utero the child feeds on the mother's energy (more like a psychic vampire) and slowly sucks the life out of her. The pregnancies do not last as long as a normal mortal pregnancy, the baby growing at twice the rate of a human.
And until puberty the child is very much half mortal, half vampire. It can still eat food for sustenance but eventually will need blood to not become weak. It has a greater sun tolerance and reacts more like a sunburn than a literal burning off of the skin. But at puberty it will turn into a full, pure vampire (sometimes through a painful process).
This is as much about exploring the world and race as anything.
Post WWII
A young woman's fiancé is sent off to fight the war along with his brother. She anxiously awaits his return, but when only one figure rounds the bin, it's his brother. The fiancé's dying wish was for his brother to take care of the woman he loved, never knowing the brother had always been in love with the girl as well. So he has to deliver the news of his brothers death to the girl and tell her he intends to keep his brothers wish and marry her himself. (Intro at bottom)
Non-romantic, timeless, two women who loved the same man, now gone.
This could be any time period, but I've had an idea rolling around in my head for some time about to women who become friends and roommates only to find they had both loved the same man before his death.
This could go a couple of ways:
he could've been with them both simultaneously. It creates a lot of unanswered questions and potential drama.
OR....depending on the exact time period and setting...one of the girls was too "low class" for him to be allowed to marry her.
I actually had an idea quite a while back that my character had been so madly in love with him and actually became pregnant with his child, but when she came to tell her love, she's met by his mother instead. She says that she's trash, and he will never marry her then pays the girl off to leave town and never come back.
Because she is going to be an unwed mother she takes her now deceased mothers wedding ring and lies when she reaches a new town saying her husband is deceased.
She ends up moving in with a charitable young woman of substantial means. The girl becomes betrothed to the love of my character through family connection and goes off to meet him several times and get to know him. Because my character moved so far away she has no inkling it's the same man. (She might even call him by a pet name or something...or even just a first name).
Just before they are to be wed he is killed, and she agrees to accompany her friend and roommate to the funeral. She then realizes it was the man she loved, the father of her child, and she is forced to make the decision of whether or not to ever tell her friend the truth. And if she does, what will become of their friendship?
Medieval Fantasy
I also have a med fant, a betrothed princess is captured on her way to meet her betrothed and convinced by her captors that the king she is to marry is not the true king and in order to save her own life, she must marry him and murder him in his bed. So she then has to make a choice whether to obey her parents and destiny and become his queen, or the rebels threatening her life and kill him, returning to them, to live their life afterward. (Intro for this is at the bottom)
Medieval Fantasy Elven Twins
This will NOT be everyone's cup of tea. But I've seen these photos for a while and always thought an Elven kingdom where twins were considered the purest of soul mates could be interesting. So yes, it would be incest/twincest. If you're not ok with that, this isn't for you. But they would have grown up as siblings knowing at their coming of age ceremony they would have to be married. I just think it could be REALLY interesting to explore.
Doctor Who
My River x Rose plot is on the genres page
RETIRED
Medieval / Fantasy
It's basically that a sorceress puts a spell on the price of the kingdom when he comes to visit her in the town to know what his future will hold. He never sees her face as she is heavily cloaked, but she tells him within the week he will find the woman he loves and must woo her before the week is out or she will flee from him forever. He doesn't realize that when she touched him that her touch actually placed a spell on him to fall in love with her. After he leaves her tent she sheds the cloak, we see she looks as though she's a beautiful young girl (even though she in fact is very very old), and she goes ahead of him on the road so that he will see her and fall for her and have to do everything in his power to get her to marry him before the week is out...which would include but not be limited to explain to his parents how he, their heir, wants to marry someone who is common with no background.
I have a victorian boarding school for girls where the two girls, roommates, might either become best friends and we may double as boys they sneak out to see, or could turn into femmeslash. OR some mixture thereof.
Alien x Human
I have a modern or future fantasy. I've wanted to do a sort of human x alien (maybe with human disguise or human-like characteristics). This new fondness for it is inspired by Katy Perry's "ET" on the radio right now. Maybe something rosewell-esque. Basically two "people" know each other from work, school, one is a customer at the other's place of business like a coffee shop or restaurant, and something bad happens (a shooting, an earthquake, a bomb) and the human is badly injured. The alien character has healing powers and chooses to save her. By doing this though they reveal themselves to her (god I know this sounds twilight-esque but I had this plot long before twilight. I just became re-inspired after hearing ET by Katy Perry). Basically at that point there are all the questions of like will she tell? What is he going to do now that someone besides him knows? They're forced to spend more time together because he wants to keep an eye on her and make sure that she doesn't tell. They become friends, then have an attraction. They don't know what happens if aliens and humans try to become lovers: kiss, sex, anything. What happens if a child was conceived? All those kinds of questions come up.
Laundress x Priest
I have been itching for a plot of a historical time period of a nurse or maiden (laundress, maid) who works in a convent, hospital, church (something along those lines) and falls in love with a priest (or some other man of God who has sworn himself to celibacy). Upon their work there together they develop an attraction for one another but both know that they can never let that be known to one another or anyone else. Over time this grows until they finally kiss...and are ashamed of it. They continue in vain to hide their feelings until some great catastrophe occurs (an illness, an accident, the convent burns down), and he saves her. As he almost looses her, he cannot bare a life without her and consents that they might run away together. From there that would just create more problems as now neither of them has a job, they're poor, and they have nothing but their love. Is that enough?
I have a double of Tudor where a brother and sister have just become members of the court and are attending their first masquerade as part of their coming out season.
I have a medieval where a princess has been kept in a sort of mists of avalon way with her Aunt in order to hone her magical skills and tap into her link with the goddess. That one can be taken as a male coming in or a female coming in to join the order.
